The Market is a fleet of pedal-powered carts that nourishes Black Rock City citizens with a variety of food, drinks, and experiences. Whether in the city streets or out in Deep Playa, The Market will roam and bring the street food experience to people when they least expect it.
Food is our love language. Food brings together people of different backgrounds, values, histories, and beliefs. That’s why we’ve centered our offering around food. We believe food breaks down barriers and serves as an opener for conversation and common ground for learning from one another. Some of our best conversations and deepest friendships formed over a plate of food. And so our variety of street cart offerings gives BRC citizens the opportunity to connect, learn about places and foods from around the world.
Why mobile? Some of our most treasured Playa memories come from stumbling across something unexpected, something we were not searching for, something that took us by surprise. So our vision is to bring this serendipity, surprise, and delight to Burning Man. Our mobile street market will find itself in different locations daily – maybe an art piece, around our neighborhood, at a dance party that caught our ears, or a Playa wedding we happen to ride by!
We draw our inspiration from street markets, artisan markets, local markets, and fairs from around the world, especially regions that are near and dear to many of our campmates’ hearts.

We Like Building Cool Shit
Ranging from freshly minted to veteran Burners, we all bring unique perspectives and Playa experiences. With Playa experiences of running large Esplanade villages, building Burning Man art installations, organizing large Playa offerings, and volunteering with Burning Man org, our crew has the tenacity, working rapport, and all-in excitement to build this camp from the ground up. With considerable experience outside of Burning Man producing large events and festivals, organizing large river and camping trips, and running companies, this crew of dreamers, creatives, builders, tinkerers, and go-getters loves putting out cool things into the world.
We Love Building Shit Together
Having led a 200-person village together these last few years, we’ve gone through the ups and downs – on and off Playa – of Burning Man as a family. We’re each others’ greatest supporters, fiercest cheerleaders, and shoulders to cry on. It takes a village out there in the dust and we are each others’ village. We’re a good group of friends with many camping trips, river trips, and travel adventures together under our belt. It’s not always going to be easy, but we know we’re all in and always have each others’ backs.
